Dottie Adele love!

Remember me mentioning Dottie Adele a few times :)

Well here is my latest purchase (Dolman Sleeve Knit Dress) and I literally have worn this thing pretty much every weekend since I've bought it. To say I love it would be an understatement! I mean... I may or may not have worn it three days in a row around my birthday. Yeah, that's right. THREE. Don't worry though, I was around different company each time, ha!

What are you waiting for?! Go get yourself something special that you too can wear three days in a row...

Walking in a winter wonderland + FAQ's....

Blazer: Fossil. Top: Gap. Belt: NY&C. Jeans: Gap.
Earrings: Charlotte Russe. Ring: James Avery. Watch: Michelle.
So, yesterday I finally said... ENOUGH! I have to do something with my life today {We are still being held captive by the evil Blizzard. Like, can't even get out of driveway kinda captive}. So, what was that something you ask? Well as you can see, I thought I would "attempt" a photo shoot. But, if you can't tell through the photos... It was extremely difficult. Nevertheless, it required me to take a shower and put my face makeup on. Which honestly guys, I can't remember the last time I had done either of those things {sick}. So, I guess the attempt for photos was an overall good thing :)
Now, on to more important bizznass...
I would just like to tell you all again how much I adore you! I know I haven't been able to comment back very much lately and I deeply apologize. But please know that I still read you ((awkward?)) and I still love you all more than ever! And, if you ever start to doubt that...
ALSO.
I have noticed a lot of people do FAQ's posts.. I personally enjoy them because I feel like I get to know the blogger a little better. So, just for S&G's {shouts & giggles that is}, I think I shall try it! So here is your chance friends to ask me whatever you'd like {to an extent, ha}. Even for the friends that know me "for reals", you can ask too. There's no reservations here!
I will post the Q&A's on my next post. You guys down? If not, totally fine. I'm just giving it a whirl. Try and spice up Love Never Fails a bit! I'm kinda excited :)
READY....... SET........ ASK!!!!!!!

Looking the part... And trying not to freak out about it

So, my departure date keeps getting closer and closer (FEB 12TH!!!) and I am starting to get hit with the reality of it all. One of the major reality checks: PACKING.

Holy guacamole. And not the good kind either. Everytime I think about it I start to hyperventilate. I am one of those "over-packers". I admit. I am. And it honestly hasn't been a problem (k, maybe a nuisance) but never a problem.. until now.
Friends, I'm going to be MOVING to Australia and I am being told that my luggage MAX= 2. TWOOOOOOOO. Like, one then two.. done.
Do you know how hard that is going to be be?! To move somewhere with just two bags. I could take up a full luggage just carrying my dang shoes! (heels and boots take up a lot of room you know)
It's also summer there, so having to look at snow outside my window then picture hopping off the plane to sunshine and beaches.. That's a little odd too.

And honestly, what the heck does an Australian wear anyway!??!

So yeah.. You can see my problem.
Luckily, I have people like The Sartorialist, Suitcase Secrets, Passports and Prada, and the Fancy Flea to help guide me through my packing/dressing endeavors!

Any of my amazing readers have any packing tips?! Or any of my other Aussies out there wanna give me a few pointers?! I AM ALL EARS!

Back by popular demand!

Top: F21. Jeans: Gap. Boots: Ross. Boot Socks+Hair Clip: Claire's.
Necklace: Francesca's. Watch: Michael Kors. Bracelet: Betsy Johnson.
I'm learning to love my curves. I have your guys kindness to thank for that.
Thank you.

Well, it's Friday ya'll! I couldn't be happier.
Although, this weekend won't be filled with anything but kiddos... The rents went to Vegas {lucky ducks}. So now, yours truly is the permenant nanny. No dropping them off at the end of the day, no sleeping as late as I choose. It's all about the booger pickers until Monday night! I'm actually really looking forward to playing mom for the weekend though. Should be interesting to say the least. Nothing nanny Sam can't handle!

What are you guys up to?!
Wherever you go and what ever you do... do it with confidence knowing that you are beautiful!! Seriously, inside and out.
Love.

A little fire and ice... Oh it feels so nice

This is dedicated to every girl in the world that has ever felt insecure.
As promised, Love Never Fails first fashion post...

Before you go any further, I would like to explain my reasoning for doing this. The reason I decided to hop on the "take-pictures-of-your-daily-attire-and-pretend-it's-cool" bandwagon is because I wanted to show women that you don't have to be a certain size to do this, you don't have to have a certain style, or look a certain way. Ladies, you are beautiful. Stop feeling like you aren't good enough for things. You don't have to have expensive clothing, a certain look, or a specific figure. All you need is to know that you are wonderful, and the world is yours.

PS.. You will notice a time difference {aka, dark and not dark outside} in the photos. We had a little technical difficulties so we had to stop for an intermission {also aka, charge the battery}.

Top: New York and Company. Jeans: Gap. Shoes: White House Black Market. Belt: Francesca's. Watch: Francesca's.

Well, there you have it friends. Hope you enjoyed the total awkwardness and enjoyment bursting through the pictures! And here is your totally awesome photographer.

Yep, totally awesome.
We had some difficulties, played around with poses, and laughed at ourselves too much. The photos are amateur but.. we will get better :)

Remember ladies, don't get discouraged when you open that closet door. Your style is perfect, because it's your own. And your size is beautiful because it's on you.
AND YOU ARE GORGEOUS.
Now start acting like it!
Love you all so very much!

It's coming folks...

.... A FASHION POST.....

Yep, that's right. I'm caving into the blogging world and going to do an upcoming "fashion post".

You know, the ones that are a little something like this, or this, or this, or this, or even THIS.
(Valerie is the best because she MAKES her own clothes!!!)

It's NOT going to be fabulous, it IS GOING to be "curvy", it IS going to be awkward.

but it IS going to be ME.

And I guess I'm OK with that.

You. Were. Warned.

The South Butt

{But first}
Thanks for all of your lovely comments on my last post!
I'm glad you all enjoyed the idea as much as I did.
Each and every one of you brought a big ol' smile to my face...
AS ALWAYS :)

Moving on,

Are you tired of a so called "fad" sweeping the nation?

College student, Jimmy Winkelmann, was and so he decided to do something about it.

Jimmy designed the brand "The South Butt" in response to the "sheep like following" of the outdoor clothing+gear line, "The North Face".

{I am in no way taking either side of the fence on this one.
For I too have North Face attire.
But, I can most certainly resepect a little parody!}

After reading the stories here and here I can't help but laugh hysterically!

However, The North Face company didn't find it to be quite as humorous. They have been battling Jimmy for years over trademark violations, but oddly enough, little Jimmy has done nothing wrong in the eyes of the law. Although, I understand the dispute for trademark rights... The fact North Face has made such a big deal over this, has caused The South Butt's sales to sore!
So, I agree with this article
"When protecting its trademarks, big companies like The North Face need to find a delicate balance between defending against unfair competition and being able to laugh at itself."

the creator and his works

Jimmy's response to all the turmoil??
"I think the consuming population is well aware of the difference between a face and a butt..."
BOOM.
ROASTED.

I must say that I am lovin' Jimmy's idea and cause :)

What about you?

Onnnne more thing...
Remember the photo swap idea I mentioned?
Go check out the newest edition of the "swap" here!

For the sewing/fashion/picture lovers.. this is for you!

WARNING: This post contains A LOT of super amazing pictures.
If you're not in the picture mood, this post may not be for you.
If you arrrrrreeeeee......
Brace yourself.

Do you have any talented friends?! Don't you just wanna brag on them sometimes? Especially if you know the blog world will appreciate them!

Well you see, there's this girl and her name is Valerie. She pretty much is awesome, but x10.
No, x100.
((as some of you know, she made my oh-so-perfect birthday dress))
Yesterday she posted her latest sewing creation and I just HAD to share it with you all!

She's lovely right?! And so is that dress. Holy smokes.
Check out some of her other pieces of art.
{PS, trying to narrow done her threads is tough when you like them all, so I just randomly picked}

Did you just love them?!?!
Well, that's not all!

Not only does Valerie make great clothes for herself, she SHARES the love with her friends too! Even over halfway across the country.
((Did I mention she lives in NYC? No. Well, she does)).

Like I said before, she made my birthday dress:

My apologizes for the sucky-o-la picture/posing quality readers & Val. You both deserve better.

She also made Kendra's wedding dress this summer:
Doesn't Ken make a gorgeous bride?!
Gorgeous bride+gorgeous dress=
SO GORGEOUS.

Recently, she has been working with Kendra and other aspiring sewers {errr, seamstresses(?)... Whatev} on sewing lessons.
Check out the girls aprons they made via Skype.
Adorable, right?!
Kendra is becoming quite the sewing pro as well.

Oh, and I cannot leave out her husbands wonderful Halloween costume from 2009. Can you guess what movie he's from??

Oh Valerie, I'm so glad we are friends!
Thank you for being awesome.
And readers, thank YOU(!) for being totally awesome as well. I don't think I've given you love today.
love, love, love to all!

Friends and the 'Mike Alike'

What do you do when friends you haven't seen in
over 3 years come to town and surprise you with a visit?!?!
Have one amazing weekend! That's what.
So amazing, that words cannot even do it justice.
So, I guess I shall not try...

But goodness! Can someone please tell me how I had one of the best weekends in what feels like forever {besides my AMAZING birthday, of course} and didn't a single picture of any it! What is wrong with me?! Ah, I really want to kick myself.

Well, hold on. I guess I can't say I didn't get "any" pictures. I DID document my attire from one of our 'going out' nights. I wanted to see what all of my lovely readers thought about it!  I call this jacket the 'Mike Alike' attire. Can we all agree this is a Michael Jackson jacket?! {R.I.P}

And look(!) I even broke out the tights again. I swear, best $10 ever spent.
Ladies, go. get. a. pair.
This time, I wore them with tall back boots ((with a heel--we love heels)).
I was feeling pretty good for just getting done working my SECOND double of the weekend at Powerhouse. It's amazing what a little makeup and fresh clothes can do for a girl!

Happy Monday friends :)

Hunger Games fun and Bday Dress update #2

This post is mostly geared towards you Valerie, and your scrumptious post that made me want to jump in the book and eat their already scarce stock of food. I guess you still have that "teacher say, student do" kind of way about you!
Photobucket
I was perfectly content reading about Katniss's adventures; then I break for a bit, catch your blog, and have had a hungry, rumbly, tummy ever since. This reaction is not good when I'm trying to look and feel as sexy as possible in my new LBD!
Speaking of which....
I just couldn't resist posting one more dress photo (it will however be the LAST sneak peak until that sucker is in action next Saturday). Here is my favorite part of the whole 'git-up'....

Photobucket

THE BEAUTIFUL CUT OUT DESIGN IN THE BACK!
I tried to be as discrete as possible with this photo she sent me, but I'm sure you guys can pretty much piece together a general idea of the dress by now, which is totally fine. I'm still just as PUMPED! She's been doing such a great job :)

Birthday Dress!

In light of not being able to sleep lately and it also being Wednesday (which to me is equal to or possibly even more icky than Mondays), I am going to blog about something that has cheered me up for almost two weeks now:

Remember when I talked about a super awesome girl, who is absolutely incredible with a sewing machine (no, seriously look at all her goods), and how she is making my birthday dress for me? Well.... She has been hard at work and I already know this dress is going to be even more than I hoped it'd be! (Yes, I'm making a big deal about this. No, I don't care. You only turn 21 once...)

And, I also know I should wait to show any/all pictures until the dress is completely done, but I just can't wait. I want to show Valerie's skills off! So, why not have a little teaser for my first 'one-of-a-kind' dress?!

Can you figure out what part of the dress it is??

obsessed with the dress

Next item to purchase for the summer:
This Dorian Embroidered dress from Fossil.
I pretty much want every dress in Fossil's collection this year, though.
Why do they have to be so stinkin' cute?
Sigh*

Fossil... You will be the death of me. Or at least my bank account anyway.

Dilemma.

What to wear to a wedding?

I've gotten as far as wanting to wear a dress.

(It's a Jaime Thing)

Now color, style, and vendor are all a mystery.
Oh, and the wedding is this Saturday.
HELP!!!
