Devils Den

 

A few weekends ago, my roommate and I made the short trek over to a well known spot in Arkansas known as Devils Den to get out and enjoy our last weeks together. I have been dying to go to Devils Den for years. I'm not even kidding guys, years. It's a really famous spot here in Northwest Arkansas and for some laaaaame reason I had just never been! Whatever.

Not anymore though! I FINALLY got to cross DD off my list off my long list of things to do before I leave Fayetteville.  As you will see it's beautiful, and not just that, it's also great camping too!  

So thankful for our time spent at this gorgeous place and the beautiful day that accompanied us!

The Sam Sleepover 2011 + a lil' country time

I don't care how old we get, we are NEVER too old for a sleepover :) This weekend I'm going to not only celebrate the 4th, but also have a sleepover with some of my favorites, most of whom I haven't seen since my going away party!

Then after that, it's off to the countryside where I will be spending time with family to celebrate our country's freedom! 

To say I'm keen for this weekend is a definite understatement!

I made it through the first week of school, phew!

What a way to go out on a friday

Wow. All I can say is wow...

I know 10 minutes seems like a long time to set and watch a video, but if you have the time it's worth every second to watch. I cried literally through the entire thing and was filled with so much joy, happiness, hope.

I really hope it touches you all as it has touched me. Thank you to all the men and women overseas serving our country. And thank you for the families and loved ones of those soldiers. You are just as brave.

What a Weekend

I thought about venting of all the obstacles that have occurred over the past couple of days but that just simply is not the way to be. So, instead I am going to list off all my blessings I have acquired over the past couple of days.

• My nana is recovery from her allergic reaction from the pain medicine they gave her rather well.
• We were very blessed to have speedy service come out to our house at 10pm to fix our air conditioner that had gone out. 
• I know now to look on things more carefully (ex. tents) to make sure they do not read "junior size". 
• I am so blessed with good friends. Late night road trips, day spent in the beautiful outdoors and even if it was very hot and very crowded, I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to be with all day. 
• My time was cut short with them, but I'm thankful for the time I was given. 
• My puppy got extremely sick BUT is going to be ok. Things could've been much worse; and even though I wasn't there for him and he does have liver damage.. dwelling on that isn't doing anyone any good. After his medicine cycle, he will hopefully be as good as new. 
• Friends are moving to California to better their lives and prosper in their future together. 
• Change doesn't =bad. Change=new adventures/new beginnings. 
• I am blessed.

Well friends, here we are with another weekend upon us. Anyone doing anything special? Whatever you do, I hope it is all you'd like it to be! As for myself, this weekend will consist of studying for finals (gross),work (gross), and a little surprise (yeah! details coming soon).

So.. This wonderful weekend has been a remedy for a very crummy week!

Never ended up going to the movie. Plans fell through. Darn. No worries though! I made up for the missed opportunity at the theaters, by going to an 80's theme party with my wonderful roommate, Ma and our dear friend, Katie! I had to do some last minute scrounging through my closet to make the best last-minute-retro costume I could find. The costume was a 'semi success' but on an account of a good time, definitely successful!

Friday was spent with a visit from the best friend, some AwEsOmE mexican food, and then we joined up with my friends here for some much needed play time!

And now the rest of the weekend consists of an 18 mile run (i'm up to 18 miles- yay!), a little math homework, razorback football, and a HUGE surprise birthday party for Sam! (roommates boy) sshhh! no telling..

Also, I can feel my birthday creeeeeeeeping around the corner! And Halloween! And Homecoming! Oh October, how I love you so.

The Weekend Ahead

What is everyone up to this weekend??? Anything exciting planned?? 

This weekend should be pretty packed :) 

Saturday morning I will be running in "The Double".. it's the Route 66 Quarter Marathon and a 5k right after.

Then Saturday evening I will be playing in the annual Skiatook High School alumni softball game! It's one of the most eventful things in Skiatook next to homecoming haha. Woman of all ages and ummm, "backgrounds" gettting together in front of the town to try and relive the 'glory days'. We're talking spandex, mullets, 80's hair... (you can only imagine haha) Anyone and everyone is more than welcome to come! It will be hilarious to say the least.. Then off to celebrate with everyone after the game :) 

Sunday, it's my LAST day to be working at the pool. Woot! 

So crazy the summer is almost over. I will be posting pics of the weekend when I return. Have a happy weekend everyone!
