9-19-09 would have been JD's 22nd birthday. Crazy to think about how much time has gone by. Sometimes it seems like yesterday, other times it seems like a whole lifetime ago. I miss him everyday. He gave up his life, so I could live mine. No words can even COME CLOSE to describing that; good, bad, and all that it entailed. But I can honor him by sharing his story.
There is a peace that comes with knowing that I will see him again someday. And what "one sweet day" that will be.

I feel so blessed to have known this love.
