Inspiration Station: what kind of friend are you?

I feel like Love Never Fails has been on cruise control or something the past 2-3 weeks. No inspiration stations, not much commenting back to you guys {I'm REALLY sorry about my absence} and just all around has been, well, kinda boring. And even though, I'm battling the winter weather sickness {aka, the cold weather has made me sick} I'm hoping to make a turn around starting riiiiiiiggggghhhhhttttttt NOW! :)

Are you a good friend?

Seriously, are you?
I want you to really think about that statement.
What does the term "good friend" mean to you?
Do you define it, practice it, with your actions?
Are you there for those that are there for you?
Are you giving what you're getting?
Are you supporting those that support you?
Are you loving them not how YOU THINK they should be loved,
but how THEY NEED need to be loved?
Are you pushing them aside and selfishly taking them for granted because you know they will
"always be there?"
Do you expect more than you give?
Would YOU want to be friends with YOU?

That's all a little tough to swallow huh? I know I'm guilty of not being the type of friend that I would want to have. But, I want to strive to always be what my friends need. I love and need them all.

Be good to those that love you. You might need them someday.

Love you all so very much!

I love every sentence of this post- it is so true and I can't help but think that I am not truly being the friend I want to be! I have a hard time believing you aren't a stellar friend, though:-) Thanks so much for the gentle reminder and for the sweet comment on my blog, you are a gem!

Great food for thought. I think I am a good friend and I feel that it gets easier with age because you learn what and who are really important and you realize if you have 1 or 2 really TRUE friends that they should be cherished because a real friendship is not superficial and hard to come by. xo

aarrrrgh! you making me wonder if I should add 'being a better friend' to my 2011 resolution list!

'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you', and sometimes, I don't follow that golden rule :/

Great post! I do feel I'm a good friend but there's always room for growth. There's so much MORE that I can do to make my friends feel even more loved. Thanks for the lovely words to leave my thinking. :)

I love a good post that gets me thinking.

I'd like to say that yes, I am a good friend - the kind of friend I should be to everyone, but in reality, I am sure that I am not always giving what I should. In fact, I've had experiences in the past that have shown me where I fall short of this quality. It is both sobering and humbling. Having said that, I try to learn from these experiences and grow from them. And I can only hope that it has made me a better friend to everyone in my life!

This was such a great post! I definitely need to reevaluate some of my friendships because sometimes I think I get caught up in my busy schedule and forget to make time for my good friends! Hope you have a great week!

Great post! Such a great reminder to so many of us! It's really hard to be a great friend, but also, one of the most rewarding relationships!

Hmm... I think I CAN be a good friend. If I'm close to the person in question I think I'm a great friend. Admittedly, I'm a horrible good acquaintance. I feel so busy that I find it so difficult to give quality time to people I don't know well. Which is sad because how do you get to know someone without giving them quality time?! ooo siiigh.

Such an inspiring post! In friendships sometimes we focus more on what we are getting out of it, rather than what we are giving in return. I myself and guilty of that at times.

p.s. love your background, it looks so cute!

GREAT blog and love the "inspiration station" by the way.. totally dig. :) And that's a very good question to always ask oneself... would you want to be friends with you? Love that!

Thank you for this post! It's definitely helpful to be reminded of this. I never want to take my friends for granted, but I do so often!!

Would you want to be friends with you? " this question made it to the point," I think friendship is more about being there when the necessity presents itself, not just when the time is good to hang out.

great post!
it's really true that we should treat our friends right. we want them to be there for us as much as they want the same. :) huzzah!

This is such a great post! I completely agree that we all need to make sure we are being the friend that we would want to have. Your sentence, "would you wants to be friends with you" is just a great thought to take in and really think about.
